Cover

Cover in betting refers to a bet winning by a margin that exceeds the spread or handicap set by the bookmaker. It is commonly used in spread betting or Asian Handicap markets.

For example, if you bet on Team A -1.5, they must win by at least two goals to "cover" the spread. If they only win by one goal, the bet loses. Similarly, in American sports like basketball, if a team is favored by -5 points and wins by 6 or more, they have covered the spread.
