Dead Heat

Dead Heat occurs when two or more competitors finish an event in an exact tie, making it impossible to determine a single winner. This is common in horse racing, golf, and other sports where precise timing or scoring results in a tie.

In betting, when a dead heat happens, the stake is usually split between the tied selections. For example, if you bet 100 EUR on a horse at 4.00 odds and it finishes in a dead heat with another horse, half of your stake (50 EUR) is settled at full odds, while the other half is lost. This results in a reduced payout compared to a full win.
