Each Way
Each Way (EW) is a type of bet that consists of two parts: a win bet and a place bet. It is commonly used in horse racing, golf, and other sports where multiple participants compete.
How It Works:- Win Bet: Your selection must win for this part to pay out.
- Place Bet: Your selection must finish within a specified number of places (e.g., top 2, 3, or 4, depending on the bookmaker and event).
Example: You place a 100 EUR each-way bet (total stake = 200 EUR) on a horse at 10.00 odds, with a place payout at 1/4 of the odds for the top 3 finishers.
- If the horse wins, both the win and place bets pay out.
- If the horse finishes 2nd or 3rd, only the place part pays out (10.00 ÷ 4 = 2.50 odds).
- If the horse finishes outside the top 3, the bet loses.
Each-way betting is useful when backing outsiders with a decent chance of placing.
