Early Price
Early Price (EP) refers to the odds offered by a bookmaker before the final Starting Price (SP) is set. It allows bettors to place wagers at fixed odds before the event begins, often in horse racing and greyhound racing.
Example: You place a bet on a horse at 5.00 (early price). Just before the race starts, the SP drops to 4.50. Since you took the early price, you keep the 5.00 odds, securing better value.
Many bookmakers offer Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG), meaning if the SP ends up being higher than the early price you took, they pay out at the better odds.
