Handicap

Handicap in betting is a way to level the playing field by giving one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage. This is commonly used when one team is significantly stronger than the other.

In a handicap bet, the stronger team must overcome the given disadvantage, while the weaker team benefits from a head start.

For example:

• Team A -1: Team A must win by at least two goals for the bet to win.
• Team B +1: The bet wins if Team B wins or draws.

There are two main types:

• European Handicap (EH): Only whole numbers, no refunds.
• Asian Handicap (AH): Uses whole, half, and quarter goals, with possible refunds.
