Runner
Runner in betting refers to a horse, greyhound, or competitor participating in a race or sporting event.
In horse racing, a runner is simply any horse declared to start in a race. Bettors often look at a horse's form, jockey, trainer, and track conditions before deciding whether to bet on a particular runner.
If a runner is withdrawn before the race starts, it may be classified as a non-runner, and bets may be refunded or adjusted based on Rule 4 deductions.
