Spread Betting

Spread Betting is a form of betting where winnings or losses are not fixed but depend on how right or wrong your prediction is. Instead of betting on a fixed outcome, you wager on whether an event's total will be higher or lower than a bookmaker's spread.

For example, if a bookmaker sets the total goals spread at 2.8 - 3.2 in a football match:

  • If you "buy" at 3.2, you profit more for every goal scored above 3.2, but lose more for every goal below it.
  • If you "sell" at 2.8, you profit more if fewer than 2.8 goals are scored but lose more if there are more goals.

Spread betting is high-risk, as losses can exceed the initial stake, but it also offers greater profit potential compared to fixed-odds betting. It is widely used in financial markets, sports betting, and political betting.
