Tissue Price

Tissue Price refers to the early estimated odds for a sporting event, usually created by professional traders, oddsmakers, or betting syndicates before bookmakers release their official odds. These prices reflect what the true odds should be based on statistical models, form analysis, and expert opinion.

In horse racing, for example, a tissue price might list a horse at 5.00 (4/1) before bookmakers adjust based on market activity. If a bookmaker offers lower odds (e.g., 3.50 instead of 5.00), it suggests strong betting interest. If odds drift (e.g., go from 5.00 to 8.00), it indicates lower confidence in that selection.

Tissue prices help professional bettors find value bets by comparing them with actual bookmaker odds, identifying mispricings before odds are adjusted.
