Void Bet
A Void Bet is a wager that is canceled by the bookmaker, meaning the stake is returned to the bettor, and no win or loss occurs. This can happen for several reasons:
- Match Cancellation or Postponement - If an event is canceled or rescheduled beyond a certain timeframe (usually 24-48 hours), bets are voided.
- Non-Runner in Horse/Greyhound Racing - If a horse or greyhound is withdrawn before the race starts, single bets on it are void.
- Player Not Participating in Prop Bets - If you bet on a player (e.g., "First Goalscorer") and they don't play, the bet is void.
- Rule Violations or Errors - If a bookmaker makes a clear pricing error or an event is impacted by external factors (e.g., a game abandoned due to fan trouble), bets may be voided.
- Push in Point Spread or Over/Under Bets - If a bet results in a push (e.g., the total points land exactly on the over/under line), the stake is refunded.
Void bets are not considered wins or losses and are often treated as if the bet never happened, though in multiples or accumulators, they may be removed rather than canceling the entire bet.
