Yield
Yield in betting measures the profitability of a bettor's wagers over time, expressed as a percentage of the total amount staked. It indicates how efficiently a bettor is turning their stakes into profit.
Formula for Yield:
Yield = (Total Profit / Total Stake) x 100
Example Calculation:
- Total amount staked: €10,000
- Total profit: €1,500
Yield = (1,500 / 10,000) x 100 = 15%
A positive yield means the bettor is making a profit, while a negative yield indicates losses.
Yield is a key metric for evaluating long-term betting performance, especially for professional bettors and tipsters. A sustainable yield of 5-10% over a large sample size is considered excellent in sports betting.
